Screening Tree Species for Carbon Storage Potential through Urban Tree Inventory in Planted Vegetation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Urban tree inventory is a great tool for gathering data that can be used by different end users. This study attempted to chart the species diversity in planted areas and measure their diameter at breast height screen them carbon storage potential. A total of 2860 trees belonging 36 were recorded vegetation parks avenue plantation. The dominant Azadirachta indicia (25.5%), Conocarpus erectus (19.2%), Ficus spp. (15.5%), Tabebuia rosea (9.2%), Peitophorum pterocarpum (9.0%) remaining represents (21.6%) identified this study. It was found highest contribution sequestration (CO2 equivalent) dominated (30.3%) with 3399.3 tCO2eq, followed (25.4%) 2845.2 tCO2eq (20.4%) 2286 tCO2eq. entire area has capability sequester around 11,213.3 on average 3.9 ± 0.1 In accordance findings, it imperative preservation sustainable environment have capacity store carbon. suggests, there potential increase urban cities through plantation programs existing new land uses along roads.

Object-Based Classification of UltraCamD Imagery for Identification of Tree Species in the Mixed Planted Forest
This study is a contribution to assess the high resolution digital aerial imagery for semi-automatic analysis of tree species identification. To maximize the benefit of such data, the object-based classification was conducted in a mixed forest plantation. Two subsets of an UltraCam D image were geometrically corrected using aero-triangulation method. Some appropriate transformations were perfor...
متن کاملUrban-Tree-Attribute Update Using Multisource Single-Tree Inventory
The requirements for up-to-date tree data in city parks and forests are increasing, and an important question is how to keep the digital databases current for various applications. Traditional map-updating procedures, such as visual interpretation of digital aerial images or field measurements using tachymeters, are either inaccurate or expensive. Recently, the development of laser-scanning tec...
متن کاملTree species diversity promotes aboveground carbon storage through functional diversity and functional dominance
The relationship between biodiversity and ecosystem function has increasingly been debated as the cornerstone of the processes behind ecosystem services delivery. Experimental and natural field-based studies have come up with nonconsistent patterns of biodiversity-ecosystem function, supporting either niche complementarity or selection effects hypothesis. Here, we used aboveground carbon (AGC) ...
